A recent reincarnation of the Maryland Historical Society’s young friends group, the Young Defenders is intent on reinvigorating a sense of history in Maryland through social engagement and historical events. The group’s mission is to remind Baltimoreans of all walks of life that history can be fun and social; it’s not just about textbooks. This is accomplished through various social events in the many historic enclaves located throughout Baltimore City.
